About Global Restoration Corp

About Global Restoration Corp

The Honorable Kyle Fawcett, Minister of Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development, right, presented the Major Reclamation Award to Mr. David Larsen, CEO, Global Restoration Corp. Minister Fawcett said that the world was watching the province, and that Global Restoration was helping to set a high standard for environmental leadership.

Since 2006 Global Restoration Corp has worked with oil, gas & utility companies located in Calgary, Edmonton and northern Alberta committed to restoring habitat and reducing their industrial footprint. Caribou habitat restoration has been our focus, working with a number of corporate and institutional clients including Cenovus, CNRL, Devon Canada, Shell, CAPP, the Oil Sands Leadership Initiative (OSLI), Canadian Oil Sands Innovation Alliance (COSIA), Inter Pipeline Ltd, Golder Associates Ltd., the University of Alberta, Boreal Research Institute, Grande Prairie Regional College, Evergreen Center for Resource Excellence & Innovation and Ducks Unlimited Canada.

For over a quarter-century, Global Restorations founder has been dedicated to assisting the natural restoration of land used for industrial purposes back to forested lands and healthy functioning animal habitats. In order to achieve our objectives we have focused on four key service areas: restoration planning and operations, mechanical site preparation, research and innovation as well as native seed collection and delivery systems.

Global Restoration is recognized for its pioneering leadership through its contributions to the majority of caribou habitat restoration projects in Alberta, including the first “Little Smokey Restoration Project” and the LiDea and Algar projects in northeastern Alberta. The company’s expertise in site preparation—particularly mounding (creating a raised seed or seedling bed using an excavator), which was first introduced in Alberta by founder Dave Larsen—has become the preferred method for linear deactivation and well site restoration in wetlands.

President of Global Restoration Dave Larsen

“I believe we have a God given responsibility to be good stewards of all we’ve been given including our natural resources. Part of being a good steward is putting disturbed lands back on a trajectory to full recovery.”

Bringing over 25 years of experience to your projects, we combine innovative site preparation techniques with a solid commitment to safety.
